As one of the most enduring soap operas on television today, the now 20-year-old The Bold and the Beautiful is still one of today’s favorite dramas. Moreover, its hard-working stars, despite their hectic filming schedule, still have time to give for the various extra-curricular socio-civic and charitable activities laid out for them to participate in.
Take for example Winsor Harmon, who plays Thorne Forrester and Lesli Kay who fills in for his sister, Felicia. The on-screen siblings will be joining more celebrities on the 5th Annual Jayo Invitational Celebrity Pro-Am Volleyball tournament.
The event is the most popular celebrity volleyball meet in the United States, which will benefit the charities of Athletes Against Autism. Celebrities from various sectors such as entertainment, film, television, music and sports team up with corporations to fight autism.
Aside from the two Bold and the Beautiful stars, this year’s event will include Carter Oosterhouse of Trading Spaces, James Hyde of Passions and David Charvet of Baywatch and Melrose Place. The list doesn’t end there as over 20 members of the Pro Beach Volleyball Association including Gold Medalist, Dain Blanton and 12-time AVP Champion, Mike Lambert are included in this year’s event. Incidentally, Winsor Harmon is also a past winner of the Jayo Invitational Celebrity Pro-Am Volleyball tournament.
The volleyball competition begins at noon at the Will Rogers State Beach in Pacific Palisades. The event is open to fans who will sign up for the chance to help a cause while playing alongside their favorite celebrities. The event seems to cater to all ages as prior to the event, World Champion and Hall of Fame inductee, Sinjin Smith will hold a children’s clinic from 10am to 11:30am.
As for other B&B news, Winsor Harmon, together with his other on-screen sibling, Ron Moss (who plays Ridge Forrester) will be appearing on Sail Away with the Stars from November 15-19. Sail Away with the Stars is an exclusive event which enables fans to get together with celebrities to see the breathtaking sights of the Western Caribbean. Moss and Harmon will be joined by eight other daytime soap stars on the Carnival Cruise Lines’ Imagination.
Activities set for the cruise include a one-on-one welcome from the fans’ favorite soap stars, a meet and greet session, photo opportunities, a cocktail party and a soap trivia game, among others.
