Geen religie – althans in de manier waarop we begrijpen dat woord. Een volledige geblazen inleiding tot de geschiedenis van de astrologie is niet realistisch, maar hier zijn een aantal elementaire feiten. Westerse astrologie waarschijnlijk begonnen in het oude Babylon. Toch zou dit niet zijn wat we nu zeggen wanneer we verwijzen naar de astrologie. Dat was dichter bij een "omenology", waar de gebeurtenissen in de hemelen waren zei voorspellen gebeurtenissen op aarde. Iets als: "Wanneer een komeet knippert in de hemel een grote koning zal sterven." Hoewel zij geen cast horoscopes de Babyloniërs deden houden allerlei records. Zij gaf ons de 360 graden voor een cirkel, die een enorme wiskundige doorbraak, als ik mag gebruiken een dergelijke verwijzing. Wetenschap graag verwijzen naar deze mensen als "primitieven (bijvoorbeeld hubris)", maar hun bijdragen aan de wiskunde zijn enorm. De Babyloniërs geraffineerd hun studie, maar het is de oude Grieken die ons horoscopic astrologie. Dat werd ontwikkeld in Griekenland lijkt onweerlegbaar. Precies wat er gebeurd is en wie waren de belangrijkste spelers in de vroegste stadia zijn onbekend. De legende zegt dat het is de gave van een Hermes Tresmigestus (De Drie keer Greatest Hermes). Een hedendaagse onderzoeker is van mening dat horoscopic astrologie werd ontwikkeld snel en dat was grotendeels te danken aan de inspanningen van een individu. Het lezen van de oude teksten een ding is vrij zeker, de mythen hadden weinig te doen. Dit komt als een schok voor veel nieuwe leeftijd astrologen. Geen van de overgeleverde teksten noemt de mythen op alle andere dan de namen van de tekens en planeten zijn de namen van de Griekse goden en mythen. Er is geen poging om de twee gebieden van studie. De werken I'm verwijzing naar zijn Ptolemaeus's Tetrabiblos of zoals het heet in het Latijn, de Quadriparte (ze betekenen "vier boeken"), de werken van Vetius Valens, een jongere tijdgenoot van Ptolemaeus, en de werken van Paulus alexandrinus die zich een paar eeuwen na Ptolemaeus. Er is geen melding gemaakt van godsdienst of de mythen, andere dan de namen. Dat geldt ook voor andere bekende vroege werken van Firmicus en Dorotheus. Het is waar dat Mars (Ares bij de Grieken) was de god van de oorlog en dat is hoe de planeet is gebruikt in de Griekse astrologie, maar er is geen melding gemaakt van hoe Mars kreeg op die manier of verhalen over Mars of een andere planeet in het Griekse boeken of een vroege tekst. U moet naar de 20e eeuw voor. Een van de interessante feiten over astrologie in de hele wereld. Alle culturen dat de ontwikkelde een astrologie gebruikt de planeten op dezelfde manier ondanks zonder enig contact met elkaar. Geen cultuur gebruikt Venus de manier waarop de Grieken gebruikt Mars of vice versa. Mars, ongeacht zijn naam in een cultuur is altijd de planeet van het geweld. Venus is de planeet van liefde en schoonheid. Saturnus is altijd een slechte jongen. enz. Griekenland daalde, Rome nam de astrologie, Rome viel en de Arabieren werd enamored van het onderwerp ook. De Arabieren, niet bekend om hun toetreding tot de Griekse of Romeinse theologie, blijven de namen en de principes en de toegevoegde hun eigen ideeën. Ze bedacht het gebruik van zonne-opbrengst, en kan ook de eerste om een grote inspanning in het mondaine astrologie. Dit alles werd gerealiseerd ondanks afkeuring vormen de grote religies. Astrologie kan een religieuze component op haar kernactiviteiten. De perfect besteld universum gepland door astrologen lijkt moeilijk te korting als puur toeval, maar dit is niet hetzelfde als gevolg van een bepaalde theologie.
